Smoothing the Way is a support group dedicated to serving first-year homeschooling mothers. Each month a topic of specific interest to the new homeschooler is offered. Veteran homeschooling moms and guest speakers are available to inform and encourage those who have decided to take on the exciting, yet sometimes daunting, task of educating their own children.

Mary has been homeschooling since 1989 and has worked in various capacities of leadership within the homeschooling community since 1994. Smoothing the Way was founded in 1999, with the purpose of meeting the needs of new homeschoolers. Whether you are new to homeschooling or just facing a difficult time in your homeschooling journey, Mary will be able to offer advice and valuable resources. Upon contacting Mary James to arrange an appointment time, you will receive a brief questionnaire to enable Mary to make the most of your phone consultation. You may make payment via PayPal or by personal check or money order. Payment and completed questionnaire must be received before appointment time. Cost — $40 per hour.
